The best way I could describe the taste of Chai tea is Christmas in a cup. It's delightful, cozy, and comforting.

This French toast recipe is perfect if you don't drink tea, OR if you just love the flavors of Chai and can't get enough.

Makes: 2-3 servings (I was able to dip 4 smaller slices of bread and still have batter left), can easily be doubled

  • 1 egg
  • 4 slices of bread (I used Canyon Gluten-Free Multi-Grain bread)
  • 1/8 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • 1/8 tsp cloves
  • 1 T coconut oil for pan
  • 1 scoop Vital Proteins, if using, add an additional 1/8 cup milk to the batter

  • almond butter
  • coconut yogurt
  • fruit
  • could use maple syrup, but the fruit can also work as the only sweetener:)

Beat egg, milk, and vanilla together with a whisk. If adding Vital Proteins, add this now, and add the additional milk. Add spices, and continue to whisk to reduce clumping. Heat pan (this one is my favorite!) over low-medium heat with coconut oil. Once pan is warm, and coconut oil has melted, dip both sides of bread slices and add to pan!

Let cool enough to slice into French Toast sticks, or serve with toppings and enjoy!
